“Zangief” is the founding sire of Northern Tier Hounds. He is a sweet natured and gentle boy who is the definition of a velcro dog. He loves his person and will happily play lap dog all day. He enjoys long naps and leisurely strolls with his friends.
He was bred by Renee McCartin of Mielikki’s Hunt Borzoi in Maryland. There are many strong running dogs and accomplished show dogs in his pedigree.
“Eastleigh” is our pick female from our first litter. She has one litter on the ground and is my heart dog.
“Raven” is our pick male from our first litter. We were discussing breeding him but in March of 2023 he was diagnosed as being within parameters for DCM. We will continue to test and treat him for his lifetime, but all plans involving Raven have been put on hold for now.
Faire Isle Kitty Malone
“Kitty” came to us from Sweden. We have long been planning to import a dog to hopefully outcross our lines with. Kitty has had two holter tests and an echocardiogram and has passed both beautifully. We will continue to test her so we can begin looking for a stud for her in a couple years. Kitty so far has not enjoyed the show ring and playfully fouls during straight racing. We are working with her to overcome these things so we can hopefully start exhibiting her in the new future.
Brynn, 7 months old
Brynn is from our second litter with Lady sired by GCH Satara’s The Desired Effect “Brexit”. She will contribute to the breeds heart study and hopefully be able to have a litter here with us. She has had a good holter test so far and is next in line for an echocardiogram.
Bandai is Brynn’s brother out of the same litter. He will also contribute to the breed heart study and has had a good holter result. He is a super goofy and fun boy.
Johnnie is Eastleighs daughter. She is an outcross to the Valeska kennel and has many siblings in the Twin Cities area. She is 6 months old now and we are very excited about her future.
